Ashtanga Yoga Boston was founded in 2006. We strive to teach Ashtanga yoga in the traditional way, as it has been and continues to be taught at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) in Mysore, India.
We are here to help you establish an Ashtanga practice if you are new, and deepen your practice if you already have one.
Most of our classes are taught “Mysore-style” — with hands-on adjustments as each student needs, and with minimal talking. Beginning and experienced students practice side-by-side. Once a week, on Friday, we offer led classes where students are verbally led through the Primary series of Ashtanga yoga.
All of our teachers have a long-term commitment to the practice, and teach in the way they have learned from Guruji and/or Sharath at KPJAYI in Mysore. All classes are taught or overseen by teachers who have attained Level 2 Authorization from KPJAYI.

Monday – Fri, 6–9AM
Offered on a continuing basis

Led Primary Series:
Saturday, 8:30–10AM (full primary)
Drop-ins with some Ashtanga experience welcome in this class!
Evening Mysore-style Class:
Monday – Thurs, 5–7PM
Offered every month as a distinct 3-week or 2-week session.
