All of Ashtanga Yoga Boston’s teachers have a long-term commitment to the practice, and teach in the way they have learned from Guruji and / or Sharath at KPJAYI in Mysore. All classes are taught or overseen by teachers who have attained Level 2 Authorization from KPJAYI.

GEORGE WHITESIDE received authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. He first learned the practice in 1996. Since then, he has travelled to Mysore numerous times for further study. He opened Ashtanga Yoga Boston in 2006 and currently teaches late-morning Mysore-style practice. With deep respect, his teaching is dedicated to the yoga tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

PETER BERTERO is a dedicated student and KPJAYI Level II Authorized teacher of Ashtanga yoga. He began the practice in Mysore, India under the instruction of K. Pattabhi Jois in 2004 and has since returned annually to practice and study with his guru, R. Sharath Jois. His teaching style draws primarily from Sharath’s example and his decade of experience living, learning and teaching yoga.

MICHAEL DRESSLER began practicing yoga in 2007 and has been practicing Ashtanga yoga daily since 2010. Michael has more than seven years’ teaching experience both in a class format and privately.  He received his 200 hour RYT in July 2009.  Michael has taken master classes with Sharath Jois and Manju Jois and a variety of other teachers.  He was given his Sanskrit name Arjuna by his beloved teacher Lisa Asha Rapp, a certified Jivamukti teacher.
